Handling Guide

Peptides are fragile biological molecules. Improper handling destroys activity, introduces contamination, and wastes expensive compounds. Follow these principles every time you work with peptides.

Always Use Sterile Technique

Treat every preparation as if contamination will cause harm โ€” because it can. Wash hands thoroughly, use alcohol swabs on all rubber stoppers, and never touch needle tips. Work on a clean surface.

01

Never Shake โ€” Swirl Only

Peptides are fragile. Shaking creates air-liquid interfaces that mechanically denature peptides โ€” destroying their structure and activity. Swirl gently in a rolling motion until dissolved.

02

Control Temperature Throughout

Bring refrigerated peptides to room temp slowly before use. Avoid extreme temperature changes. Never heat a peptide solution to speed dissolution โ€” swirl at room temperature only.

03

Protect from Light at All Times

UV and visible light break peptide bonds and cause oxidation. Keep vials in original boxes or wrapped in foil. Work quickly when exposed. Amber vials add further protection.

04

Use the Correct Diluent

Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) for multi-dose use. Sterile water for single-use only. Never use tap water, saline, or any other fluid unless specifically required by the compound's protocol.

05

Respect Expiry & Reconstitution Dates

Lyophilized powder typically has a 2+ year shelf life frozen. Reconstituted peptides degrade faster โ€” typically 4โ€“8 weeks refrigerated. Label everything. When in doubt, discard.

Quick-Reference: Do's & Don'ts

โœ… Always Do
Wash hands thoroughly before handling
Swab all rubber stoppers with 70% IPA
Let stoppers air-dry 30 seconds before puncturing
Use a new, sterile syringe for each draw
Label vials with name, concentration, and date
Work under good lighting on a clean, flat surface
Refrigerate reconstituted peptides promptly
Inspect solutions before each use
โŒ Never Do
โœ•Shake or vortex a peptide vial โ€” ever
โœ•Touch needle tips or allow contact with any surface
โœ•Squirt diluent directly onto the powder
โœ•Use tap water or saline as a diluent
โœ•Expose peptides to direct sunlight or heat
โœ•Freeze reconstituted solutions
โœ•Reuse needles or syringes
โœ•Use a vial past its reconstitution expiry date
